RTQ Database: Disney California Adventure

The RTQ Database was created as an way to keep track of disabled guests’ experiences in the parks. by date, without the Disability Access Service (DAS) accommodation since the DAS was changed earlier in 2024. The database is crowdsourced via anonymous surveys, and discussed experiences of many people with varying disabilities. The hope is to track the evolution of how attractions-based “alternate accommodations” are being handled by the attractions CMs – we’re looking for some kind of consistency to emerge that allows disabled guests to have some kind of idea of how things may go at various attractions.

This page covers attractions at Disney California Adventure, in Anaheim, California. To read important updates and disclaimers about the RTQ Database, or to navigate to another park’s page, visit the RTQ Database Landing Page. To complete the survey, visit the RTQ Menu.

General (1)

8/1/24, party of 3 adults, 1 disabled: “there is no accessible viewing area for parades, so we were crowded out by other guests, even though we were in our spaces at the front of the parade viewing area first. As well, a CM shooed us out of a perfect viewing area that was unobstructed, only to let a family with 3 strollers park there not 5 minutes later. We also tried to watch the Green Army Men Drum show and I was crowded out completely from viewing it due to the wheelchair.”

7/1/2024, party of 3 disabled adults and one minor: Survey respondent indicated that they were told no accommodations available at this attraction.

8/1/24, party of 3 adults, 1 disabled: “I was unable to experience Monsters Inc. because the ride broke down while we were in line and it became an unbearable wait. We tried to exit the queue and see if a CM would help with a return time, but, they did not have any help, as well, they ignored us trying to exit with a wheelchair and there just was not enough room to maneuver around the switchbacks.”

8/4/24, party of 1 disabled adult, with mobility aids: Survey respondent indicated that the CM attempted to help them access this attraction, but did not share specifics.

9/22/24, party of 4 (1 disabled adult, had “Stroller as Wheelchair” tag to use child’s stroller as a mobility device for themself): “Did buddy pass at Monsters, Inc” (My assumption is that respondent is referring to Rider Switch, but not 100% sure)

6/23/2024, party of 2 (1 disabled adult who uses a cane and their partner who assists with their disability): “They stated that they could not give me a return time or other accommodations. I asked for a supervisor and I emotionally broke down explaining how to manage my day after being denied DAS. He listened and understood my frustrations and offered me Lightening Lane tickets, but stated after this one time he couldn’t help with this situation.”

8/7/2024,Part of 2 (1 adult, 1 minor, both disabled), Survey respondent indicated that they were told no accommodations available at this attraction. “Attempted to get a LTR at Guardians of the Galaxy because we were told by DAS we could do some version of rider swap since it was just my daughter and I. CM at the attraction informed me my 12yo daughter was old enough to wait in a 95min line by herself with no way to contact me because she doesn’t have a phone. I told them I was not comfortable with that option and that made zero sense when you can’t even enter the park unaccompanied until 14. The CM was extremely rude and acted like I was a huge inconvenience and they would be doing me a one time favor by giving me an LTR. They also told me their management said that DAS was wrong for telling me that. I went to city hall in DCA to complain and they told me that the CM was wrong and that should have been acceptable. No one is on the same page…”
