Home Blog Episode 4

After a few full weeks of being sick after getting back from vacation, our family is finally feeling (mostly) better. There’s still some lingering coughs, but we’re fine otherwise. It wasn’t COVID, but we all had some sort of upper respiratory infection, that led to missing out on our usual Easter plans (nobody felt up to an egg hunt) and pushing the toddler’s birthday celebration with family TWICE. At this point, he’s sharing a party with his oldest sibling at the end of the month, because family members have plans already scheduled over the next couple weekends.

Speaking of birthdays, our oldest is coming up on a milestone birthday. She’ll be thirteen soon. No more Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique (that’s part of why we had to make this past trip when we did), but it opens up other opportunities for her. She’s excited to finally have an online presence for her art. She’s been told for the last several years that she needs to be thirteen before we allow her to mess with the internet and social media, but now she’s finally about to have access to share her stuff online, with my wife and I monitoring and running admin on her accounts. She’s very excited and has been working on learning to make animatics because she wants to go into animation.

Aside from that, we’re just living the day-to-day stuff. We had our homeschool review, have a handful of doctor’s appointments coming up, and we’re starting to make plans for the summer. I’ve been working on a few side projects and going through old hard drives to try to declutter some outdated/irrelevant files. It’s been a relatively boring few weeks here, especially since we’ve been sick. But things should start to pick up a little more soon as it gets warmer.

Disney Related PS: I’m working on a project to make the allergy matrices I make easier to access without having to search through a ton of blog posts. If that’s something you’d be interested in, make sure you keep up with the blog/instagram/facebook pages. There’s definitely a lot of cool stuff in the works, including plans for more video content and some awesome throwbacks from past trips. My allergy-friendly review of Beaches and Cream is coming tomorrow, too so stay tuned!
